The Reno office currently provides Environmental Science and Regulatory Permitting services only. We are not offering engineering or survey services from our Reno office at this time. This office is an ideal complement to support ongoing activities from local bases across the state. The office presence will serve to strengthen RBF’s community ties in the Reno/Tahoe region. RBF is currently serving multiple clients with active projects located in the Lake Tahoe Basin and Reno area.
Kevin Roukey, RBF Senior Associate and Senior Environmental Manager, will be based full time out of the Reno office. Kevin has over 35 years of experience with the Army Corps of Engineers, and for the last six years served as Chief of the Reno Regulatory Field Office. Dr. Steve Weber will also provide support to the Reno market. Dr. Weber is a nationally recognized watershed/lake management expert and serves as a board of trustees member of the Desert Research Institute Foundation. These experts are key to the firm’s commitment to successfully address the challenges of RBF’s clients and fulfill their mission of sustaining the future.
About Reno:
Living in Reno means belonging to a vibrant community that has something for everyone. Many residents enjoy living in the exciting urban downtown, while others prefer family-oriented neighborhoods with excellent parks, and even others are at home in the quiet foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
With a population of over 211,000, Reno is the largest city in Northern Nevada. It is located in the southern part of Washoe County, nestled on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in an area called the Truckee Meadows. Reno is America's Adventure Place providing unlimited indoor and outdoor recreational activities. Spectacular Lake Tahoe and the largest concentration of ski areas and ski facilities in the world are all within a fifty-mile radius. Biking, camping, hunting, fishing and mountain climbing are all activities Reno residents and visitors enjoy.
The City of Reno is embracing the concept of becoming a "Green" city. One of the City Council priorities is to enhance the City's efforts in reducing its impact on the environment. Part of this goal includes providing leadership in the community to encourage residents and businesses to join in this effort. Numerous City programs designed to protect the climate by reducing emissions and saving energy have been implemented.
